Having arm and hand pain can be uncomfortable and frustrating. The pain and tingling interferes in opening a jar lid or causes the dropping objects for no reason. There are many reasons that can cause these symptoms. The most common are carpal tunnel (narrowing of tunnel in bones of wrist) and repetition movements of hands and arms. These causes can come from typing and constant bending of wrists. Some of the professions who could experience these symptoms include; carpentry, plumbing, massage, basketball, golf, tennis, farming, mechanics, surgeons, dentists, dental hygienists, just to name a few.
So, the question is what can we do if we are experiencing hand/arm pain or tingling or any of the other symptoms? Always first visit your doctor for a formal diagnosis. Realize that sometimes physical therapy or surgery will be suggested. However, there is another option for you if you want to give massage therapy a try or refer a loved one. Two of our massage therapist, Ryan and Carolyn, have had special training in Repetitive Stress Injuries.
Repetitive Stress Injuries tend to come on slowly over time, and often can take years before showing up. These injuries happen because over time the muscle tissue tightens (shortens) from making the same movements (which we can make sometimes a 100 times an hour). We just don’t realize what is happening until the pain, tingling or numbness gets our attention.
Ryan and Carolyn have created a special treatment just for hand and arm pain mentioned in this article. You can call us to book your free consultation with either Ryan or Carolyn and create a personal care plan just for you. We are all different and our bodies have different needs. This treatment could possibly help you keep from having surgery or long term debilitating damage to your muscles or tendons. We look forward to hearing from you.
Have a great New Day,
